Travel photography represents a growing area with the rapid rise of digital cameras and digital slr cameras. Taking photographs while travelling has never been easier with small pocketable digital cameras with large zooms providing a large amount of flexibility and portability for people from all walks of life. The recent introduction of the Micro Four Thirds camera system has provided the ultimate travel cameras which have large sensors, small mirrorless bodies, lens mounts and adapters which can accept interchangeable lenses and most importantly, can rival the quality of a digital slr without the bulk.

Currently, Panasonic and Olympus produce micro four thirds cameras such as the G3 or E-PL2 while Samsung is the first manufacturer to produce a mirrorless camera system using an APS size sensor called the NX10. Sony have released their Nex-3 and Nex-5 cameras and Pentax have introduced their Pentax Q system which uses a small sensor similar to most compact digital cameras. Other camera manufacturers including the two biggest - Nikon and Canon, may follow with their own systems later in the year or in 2012. This section will list various sites related to travel photography - both amateur and professional.
