Gap Year Travel Resources: Working Abroad

Opportunities for working abroad during a gap year have increased over the years and many countries, including Australia, offer a one-off working visa for young people under the age of 30. Other ways to work abroad include being sponsored by an employer or having in-demand skills and experience which may be in short supply in the destination country. A points system is often used to assess suitable candidates for entry to a country and for obtaining a working visa. For people with a passport from a country belonging to the European Union, there is free movement between European member countries which allows people to work in anonther European country subject to the usual bureauracy and paperwork. This section will list websites which provide information for anyone considering working abroad during a gap year or people considering a permanent move to another country to find work and bring up a family.
